No pasa nada.
Hi and good day! In today's post I would like to speak about something a bit different but still related to this precious hobby.
Today I'm going to talk to you about scrapbooking with kids. My daughter will be 8 years old soon and she has always been interested in what I do when I'm scrapbooking. When she was small she used to love drawing, cutting, and doing crafts as many children do and being her mother and also an art teacher I have always make sure that she had scissors, papers, glue and everything that she needed to grow and her creativity. A few months ago she started taking it quite seriously. She wanted real photos that she could use to do the same things that mommy did, and that is when I started looking in my box of photos and found photos that I would probably not use and I would give them to her and would notice that she was trying to imitate my style using embellishments, paper and titles for her work. I found this very sweet and a few weeks ago I decided to buy her her very own smash book which is how I myself started this hobby.
I always say that I started scrapbooking when she was born because I wanted to document her birth and all the little cute things that she did when she was a baby and on the Internet I found out what Scrapbooking was all about. In reality, thinking about it, years before I had created an album for my husband using journaling, photos and I think that is when I had really started scrapbooking.
I bought her the purple Smashbook because I thought it was the best and cutest one for her. It's got lovely colors and very cute drawings and it's quite childish in a way. I didn't tell her and we even did an unboxing together we you watch on my YouTube channel. (This video is in Spanish). Since then she has even asked for space in my scraproom and I have been passing over things that I'm sure I will not use from my stash. I even gave her my trimmer and bought a new one for myself so she could cut around the photos or the papers that she needs.
Laura is very happy. I think that it's very healthy that kids nowadays have a hobby which allows them to be creative. Unfortunately we all know that in today's world kids are too addicted to screens. I'm a teacher and I see this every day that it is harder and harder to get them interested in anything which is not a screen. Laura is happy with her papers and scissors. We put on music or podcasts and we scrap together and that is a precious moment that I'm sure she will remember for the rest of her life. She's going through her smashbook quite quickly and has already completed the first few pages. I think I need to print more photos urgently. It doesn't matter as long as she's happy. Soon enough we might even have to consider creating her own YouTube channel called Los Papeles de Laura! Who knows?
